In early January I took a trip to London and Paris with two girlfriends. Though we had an amazing time together, I felt the need to spend a couple days to myself. As much as I was excited to explore the city on my own, I was a bit shocked by my willingness to spend two days alone. In the past year I've truly developed a love and need for alone time. There is something so extraordinary about being able to be by yourself. During my second year of college, I hated being alone because I believed being alone was the same as being lonely. Let me tell you, theres a big difference. Finally after months of feeling this way, I decided to teach myself to be okay with being alone. I started doing things that I loved in my free time rather than sitting by my phone looking at what everyone else was doing while I wallowed in my loneliness. Having alone time has taught me so much about myself and has allowed me to dive deeper into my true self.
Okay, now we'll go back to London. During our trip we stayed in London for three days, Paris for a day and a half, then another three nights in London. After our visit to Paris, I felt the need for some alone time. There was something about London that made me feel so at home and comfortable that I wanted to use the opportunity to rejuvenate my mind and explore alone.
